Diethylene Glycol (DEG)

Diethylene glycol is a colorless, odorless, hygroscopic and slightly viscous liquid completely miscible with water and many other organic solvents. The industrial grade is used as a drying agent for natural gas and as a plasticizing and lubricating agent for many natural and synthetic products, especially fibers. It is also used as a solvent for shellac, cellulose nitrate and resin and as a component in printing ink formulations.
